Our Story

Behind every project, there's a story. From a simple idea to a thriving community of change-makers – our story is one of growth, resilience, and shared dreams. Learn how we got started.

We Are Youth Can Cure.

Youth Can Cure was founded by high school student Tara Chaudhary at age 16. Witnessing the overwhelming need for support in the healthcare and social work sector, she set out to create an organization that would connect passionate young individuals with nonprofits facing staffing challenges. Tara's journey began in her sophomore year, where she discovered that numerous nonprofits were understaffed or lacking in donors, hindering their ability to fulfill their vital missions. Simultaneously, she noticed a pool of young talents, including high school students seeking volunteer hours, community service opportunities, and a chance to contribute to something larger than themselves. Recognizing the potential synergy between these two groups, Tara founded Youth Can Cure. Our organization became a bridge, uniting the aspirations of motivated young minds with the pressing needs of nonprofits and volunteer-driven organizations. Today, YCC continues to grow and thrive, creating a positive impact in the community by empowering youth and supporting the crucial work of nonprofits dedicated to enhancing the well-being of communities in need.
